“An experiment in collaboration the CAS Tablecloth became a domestic canvas on which communal activity was recorded.

CAS Associates often gather around the table to work, talk, make, and to share conflict, grief, celebration and joy. Familiar and symbolic at the “heart of the home”, a formal dining situation, or boardroom the table is a space of potential, where ‘place’ may be set and boundaries challenged, transgressed & overwritten.

Where the interplay between CAS artists is largely intellectual, emotional, and relational this series seeks to make evident CAS’ dynamic discursive creativity. The tablecloth is the visual culmination of collective energy, representing the individual and combined efforts of all the artists associated at CAS.

Documentation of process and evolution is a key component of our shared practice. Thus our presented work is a series of images which reveal the interplay between individuals in the making of a singular phenomenon”
