Thinking Tool Series
Elastic Bands, Bamboo Chopsticks, Embroidery Hoop

2011
Thinking Tool Series is created using only elastic bands, bamboo chopsticks, and embroidery hoops, with no glue or adhesive. It is a sculptural exercise in creating form with simple objects that can return to their original elements. Each assembly is temporary, reversible, and tension-based: bamboo chopsticks act as linear struts, elastic bands create flexible joints and tension, and embroidery hoops become circular frames, clamps, looms, or boundaries. Form emerges through balance, friction, triangulation, and suspension rather than permanent attachment. The sculpture is never fixed; it remains a kit of parts—a thought that can be taken apart and thought again.
